The Garmin Instinct Solar sounds like a great option for you, especially if you're looking for a watch with longer battery life. The solar charging feature is a game-changer, especially for someone who frequently uses GPS features. Contrary to the above and many reviews, buy xanax without prescrition I've find it perfect for biking to the point where I've stopped using my Edge on the handlebars (recording, not route map finding). Heart Rate tracks imperceptibly close to what a chest strap does as long as its strapped down, no noticeable difference in GPS tracking.
[Closed] Does Garmin double-count activities from multiple devices?
Designed by MTB track pioneer Dan Atherton, the course is notoriously difficult and an extreme test in skill and nerve. Fastest down the hill wins and Louise has confirmed her spot to challenge in Sunday’s finals and pit herself against the most elite downhill mountain bike riders in the world. The one main issue I had with the GS Explorer S was starting an activity on the watch which could be a frustrating process. Sometimes it’s quick and painless but more often than not I find GPS acquisition to take an age to a point where I simply give up after a while and set off regardless. Connecting to your phone and making sure it is connected to your watch does help, along with moving around, but it is still frustrating when you’re sitting waiting for your watch to say you can start riding. My tip would be to make starting your activity the very first thing you do when preparing to head out on a ride (or whatever), instead of checking your tyre pressure , finding your shoes/helmet, lubing the chain etc.
So with that in mind, let’s see what I’ve found useful, and not so useful. The implied question is, if you record on both, do they sum the recovery stats even if you delete the duplicate activity? Ie if you edit an activity in Connect (say duration or distance) this is not reflected in the device so it's reasonable to assume the recovery stats are also not up (down?) dated. Of course, your devices are newer, so gawd knows what new features Garmin have introduced since I got mine...
RACE HIGHLIGHTS, Elite Men, Les Gets Round 7:
This kind of thing - Edge Touring doesn't have tru-up or training load and whatnot. I use my Fenix 5X for everything, but an Edge 800 for route following. It's easier just to delete the activity off of the Egde (helps it needs to be plugged in via a mini USB lead, rather than syncing over WiFi or BT). It’s good fun, but it’s nowhere near as good as critics are making it out to be.
But sometimes I save both by mistake and when I do this, sometimes garmin will see it as 2 separate rides and sometimes only the one. If it counts it twice I just delete one of them. But it is interesting to see the differences between the two devices, there is usually a small discrepancy between the distance, but usually a much bigger difference in the elevation gain. The watch also features waypoint marking and return-to-track navigation. Whilst this is a cool feature, it isn’t the most intuitive to use and – with Mibro being quite a niche brand – it’s hard to find a information on how this works.
Route Finding and Recording
I'm also not sure to the extent recovery data is accurately reflected across devices. Say you run on Fenix and ride on Edge recording separately. You'd expect the units to reflect the other activities. As pointed out, if you are running or cycling a lot with the watch, be aware of the weight of the fenix+epix. Not that they are that heavy, but more the bashing they can give your hand.
